A Hoyle Court Artist

“Learn the rules like a pro, so you can break them like an artist”

Art, Craft and Design at Hoyle Court

Through our curriculum at Hoyle Court we aim to develop procedural fluency; children who think and behave like artists.

We provide every child with a wide range of opportunities to be creative and access a diverse and high-quality cultural education. This approach supports social and emotional development and the mental health and well-being of all our pupils.

Creativity is a higher order thinking skill which can be applied across the curriculum and teaches children to problem solve, create and think critically and helps them to thrive in a fast-changing world.

Through our visual art curriculum children learn skills of drawing, painting, collage, printmaking, sculpture, textiles and digital media. The children use their own sketchbooks to explore and record their individual responses to the world. The children learn about artists, craftspeople, architects and designers. They learn to reflect, evaluate and analyse their own and others work.
