Early Years

The children have had a great start and are now very settled in Reception. They have made friends, learned the rules and routines and seem to be really taking to school life. We are really proud of all the children!

We hope you found the phonics information and the video of a typical phonics lesson useful. In our phonics lesson we have learned all the phase 2 sounds and are starting phase 3. Lots of children are now blending words and are starting the  journey of reading. We will continue to learn more sounds and tricky words.

Reading at home

Thank you for your continued support when reading at home. Please continue to practise reading as often as possible. Remember to keep practising your rainbow words and use the website www.bugclub.co.uk for additional reading activities. We will continue to choose a Reading Champion each week linked to home reading.
