A Hoyle Court Musician

“Music gives a soul to the universe, wings to the mind, flight to the

 Imagination and life to everything.”

(Plato)

At Hoyle Court Primary School, it is our vision to inspire children to foster a love of music and encourage children to pursue their own musical aspirations. Music is an integral part of the curriculum and can be accessed by all pupils, regardless of ability or background.

We enable our children to gain a firm understanding of what music is through listening, singing, playing, evaluating, analysing, and composing across a wide variety of musical genres. All children are exposed to a wide selection of cultural music and are encouraged to question the impact it has on them.

We nurture children’s curiosity for the subject, as well as an understanding and acceptance of the validity and importance of all types of music. Children are introduced to various different famous musician from the local area such as, Frederick Delius, Zayn Malik and Allan Holdsworth.  We are committed to ensuring children understand the value and importance of music in the wider community, and are able to use their musical skills, knowledge, and experiences to involve themselves in music, in a variety of different contexts.

We provide opportunities so that when children leave us they have an understanding on how music enhances people’s lives and have developed an appreciation for a wide range of music.
